TV crew film for Lough Foyle series

Before Christmas, we welcomed Joe Mahon to the Mellon Centre for Migration Studies as his team filmed for a forthcoming series on Lough Foyle and its hinterland and the influence of the Ulster-Scots. Catherine, our Director, talked about emigrant letters in the Irish Emigration Database (available at www.DIPPAM.ac.uk) and migration along the Foyle Valley. We expect Joe, Orla and the team back this week to discuss sequencing of migration in the 17th century and the migration story of Thomas Mellon with Paddy, our Head of Research and Development: watch out for the series!
